We designed the Tempest hardware and network infrastructure to support the largest weather and environmental data observing system on earth. This means hardware that is easy to set up and a data collection and monitoring system that is unparalleled in its ability to scale. There are tens of thousands of Tempest Weather Systems online and growth is accelerating. All of this data fuels our Nearcast™ Technology.
Other Proprietary Network Data
WeatherFlow-Tempest also has access to other important proprietary data. Our partner company WeatherFlow Networks has created the largest industrial-grade private weather network and we retain exclusive access to this data for most applications. All Available Public Domain Data
Creating weather networks is a core strength at WeatherFlow-Tempest. We start by collecting a massive set of data in the public domain worldwide. This includes data from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) and the Environmental Data Service (EDS), as well as intel from obscure sources that we have qualified over many years.
New Sensor Roadmap
As we expand globally we are adding hardware options to the TempestOne weather station line, including a remote hub featuring solar power and cellular communications. Our affiliate, WeatherFlow Networks, is expanding to include more industrial-grade sensing of weather data – and also measure impactful environmental components such as high fidelity precipitation, hail, snow, soil moisture, road surface temperature, sea surface temperature, water temperature, water level, and more.
